Specimen Type/Requirements
Fresh Stool- Hemoccult Sensa Cards see Hemoccult Sensa patient collection instructions 49.36.L02.
Raw stool is unacceptable and will be rejected. Stool must be placed on the sensa cards immediately after collection.
SENSA cards must be labeled with patient name, date of birth and collection date.
Do not collect if blood is visible in collection (e.g. mentration, active hemorrhoids, urinary tract infection. Avoid red meat, vitamin c, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs prior to collection.
For specimen 2 order LAB0674 & for specimen 3 order LABS0675. Samples should be taken from bowel movements on three different days.
