Specimen Requirements:

  • 2.0 mL (min 1.5 mL) Plasma - Lavender top (EDTA)
    • Stability/Transport:
      • Room Temp: Not Acceptable
      • Refrigerated: 6 days
      • Frozen: 84 days (preferred for transport)
    • TAT: Set-up Monday-Saturday at Mayo; Report available in 1 to 3 days

Test is affected by hemolysis (hemolysis is inhibitory for PCR testing).

Test is not affected by lipemia or icterus.
