Purple (EDTA) Tube. Unstained peripheral blood smears.
Smears made from EDTA should be made within 2 hours of collection for optimal quality. Do not fix or stain smears.
NOTE: A CBC must have been performed within the previous 72 hours. If not, a CBC must be ordered with the Peripheral Smear Review.
