This test is used during disease activity in autoimmune and infectious disorders as well as

in transplantation rejections.

Specimen Type/Requirements

Lavender top (EDTA) tube -  Plasma

Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube - Serum

Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum

 

Interfering substances:  Basiliximab binds with the IL-2R in vivo.  Results for patients on basiliximab reflect the unbound portion of SIL2R in the plasma sample.


Test is not affected by hemolysis or lipemia.
